These Spurred Snapdragon linaria seeds grow bold and brilliant blooms promising butterflies and important pollinators to the garden all season long. Spurred Snapdragon linaria is easy to grow from seed and its hardy and robust stalks are an essential seasonal twist to traditional snapdragon baskets, bouquets, and centerpieces.
How to grow:
Spurred Snapdragon linaria is very adaptable, easy to grow from seed, and can either be sown indoors or out. For earliest blooms begin 6 – 8 weeks prior to the frost. Linaria has a wildflower habit and may also be sown by broadcasting directly after the frost. Blend Spurred Snapdragon linaria seeds with sand to increase visibility during sowing and broadcast mix over a 10-square foot area and evenly rake and lightly tamp into soil. For traditional sowing, plant 2 – 3 Spurred Snapdragon linaria seeds ½” deep and 12” apart in hummus-rich, evenly moist, and well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Spurred Snapdragon linaria is native to cool Moroccan summers and performs well in shade during long summer months. Trim plants to provide proper circulation and avoid overwatering as linaria does not perform well in poorly drained soils. Linaria has no serious pests or diseases but monitors regularly for aphids.
