Lilac PomPom Poppy
Days to Full Maturity: 60 Days
Non-GMO – Heirloom – High Germination Rate
Minimum Seed Count: 250
Unlike any other poppy you will see, Lilac Pompom is a fun, fabulous variety that reminds us why we garden! Light, fluffy, fringed petals adorn semi-tall stalks. Lilac petals contrast nicely above blue-grey foliage to create a truly stunning flower.
How to grow:
Poppy seedlings do not transfer well so we recommend directly sowing or sowing in a decomposable pot. Direct sow in early spring, pressing the seed into the surface of the soil. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which should occur within 14-20 days. Do not attempt to move seedlings, since they resent having their roots disturbed. For an early start, start the seed indoors in peat pots 6-8 weeks before the last frost and plant outdoors. The best method for planting is to mix one part seed with 5 parts sand and scatter over the prepared growing area. Plant the seeds in rows 6” to 8” apart. Poppies should be watered regularly, but they can tolerate dry conditions. It is not necessary to fertilize poppies.
